Library of Things

The Library of Things is a collection of non-traditional library items that complement the Summit Free Public Library’s mission to inform, enrich, and inspire. We hope the Library of Things will offer new experiences for you and your family to enjoy. Discover the night sky using one of our telescopes, observe local birds with our birdwatching kit, search for treasures using our metal detector, and much, much more! The Library of Things collection is made possible in part by the generosity of the Friends of the Library.

Here is the fine print:

• Available to adult Summit residents, paid members, and those employed in Summit.
• Items circulate for a period of 14 days.
• Only one item from the Library of Things or Library of Things Jr. may be checked out at a time.
• You may only renew items once.
• Overdue fines are $10 per day.
• Replacement costs for these items range from $55 to $1200 so please handle them carefully!

We also offer Library of Things Junior for people of all ages!
