Planning your visit

You can now create a temporary account with the Summit Library to access our digital resources from home. Click Create Account on the top right corner of our library catalog to receive your barcode, valid for thirty days. The temporary barcode will allow access to Kanopy, hoopla, Overdrive, Creative Bug, Mango, LinkedIn Learning, World Book, Morningstar, and all of our EBSCO databases. These temporary credentials grant access to Summit Free Public Library’s online resources only. For full borrowing privileges, Summit residents need to visit the library with proof of residency to receive a library card.

The Summit Free Public Library is currently offering in-person service for borrowing materials. Our public computers do not require reservation and can be used for up to 3 hours per day if no one else is waiting. Our restrooms, meeting rooms, and Quiet Study Rooms are available for use. The Think-It lab is not available yet. Photocopying, faxing, scanning and wireless printing services are available. Curbside service is no longer available.

Adult, teen, and children’s program are now held in-person or virtually. Please check our events calendar for more info.

Please note the following:

  • Masks are optional for library visitors.
  • Patrons are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the building and after touching library materials and surfaces. Hand-sanitizing stations are placed throughout the building.
  • For patron and staff safety, sneeze guards have been installed at all public service desks.
