Dear Summit Free Public Library patrons and community members,
As we turn the page to a new school year, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of our students, families, educators, and lifelong learners. September always feels like a time of new beginnings, and here at the Library, it’s an especially exciting month filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate together.
This month, we’re joining libraries nationwide in celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month: the perfect time to remind friends and neighbors that a library card is the most powerful school supply of all. We’re also thrilled to share that our online spirit wear store is open through September 30. Keep an eye on our social media for the link so you can show your library pride!
September also brings special events, including Welcome Week (September 14–20), where we invite both new and longtime library users to explore everything the Library has to offer. In addition, we begin our month-long recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15–October 15) with programs and events honoring the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.
I hope you’ll join us for these exciting events and take full advantage of all your Library offers this fall. Here’s to a wonderful school year and a season of discovery and connection at the Library.
As always, if there is anything that we at the Library can do to better meet your needs, please feel free to contact me at abs@summitlibrary.org or (908) 277-9455.
Sincerely,
Amy Behr-Shields, Library Director
