Adult Services Highlight — October 2025

International Music Day is on October 1. Since 1975, this day has celebrated how music connects people and honors musicians from all backgrounds. This October, our library has several ways for you to enjoy music as you welcome the fall.

You’ll find four boxed sets of music CDs for sale in the display case near our entrance. These generous donations from community members are too valuable to lend, so we’re offering them for purchase instead. Here’s what’s available:

  • Bruno Walter: The Edition. This 39-CD set features the complete symphonies of Beethoven and Brahms, the later symphonies of Mozart, and the symphonies of Mahler and Bruckner.
  • Complete Works: Bach Edition
  • Complete Works: Beethoven
  • 30 Years Outside the Box: Yo-Yo Ma. This 90-disc set includes every original album Yo-Yo Ma has recorded, along with two bonus discs of rare and unreleased tracks, all in a beautifully designed, velvet-lined box.

For our British literature fans, we are also selling a boxed set of The Complete Novels of Jane Austen (from Folio Society). Please ask the Circulation staff for prices. All proceeds benefit the Library.

If you enjoy live music, join us for concerts on October 51214, and November 2. You can also read Jersey Jazz Magazine for free on our website to stay up to date with the local jazz scene. Our music DVD collection has recordings of a wide range of live concerts, and our music CD collection runs the spectrum of musical tastes. You can borrow a CD player and DVD player from our Library of Things, which also offers a ukulele and a record player.

We look forward to bringing more music into your life this fall.
