Dear Summit Free Public Library patrons and community members,
June is one of the most exciting times of year at the Summit Free Public Library — it’s the start of Summer Reading! If you’ve never joined before, you might be wondering: What is Summer Reading at the Library?
Every summer, the Library invites readers of all ages — kids, teens, and adults — to take part in our Summer Reading Program. And this year’s theme, Color Our World, celebrates the power of creativity, imagination, and stories to brighten our lives and bring our community together!
Here’s what Summer Reading is all about:
- Reading for fun — Whether it’s picture books, novels, graphic novels, or audiobooks, you set your own reading goals and enjoy stories all summer long.
- Prizes & rewards — As you log your reading, you’ll earn chances to win exciting prizes like gift cards, tickets, and more!
- Special events — Join us for themed programs, crafts, performances, and hands-on activities designed to inform, enrich, and inspire.
- A shared community experience — Summer Reading connects readers of all ages, encourages families to read together, and helps kids keep their reading skills sharp over the break.
Sign up beginning June 7 — either in person at the Library or online at this link — and let’s make this a summer to remember! Together, we’ll Color Our World, one story at a time.
As always, if there is anything that we at the Library can do to better meet your needs, please feel free to contact me at abs@summitlibrary.org or (908) 277-9455.
Sincerely,
Amy Behr-Shields, Library Director
