Youth Services Highlight — May 2025

Visit our new Tween collection! We’ve created a new collection of middle school main characters at the beginning of our Middle Grade Fiction section. Each title has a blue TWEEN label on the spine, and contains main characters that are around 12 years old or older. The stories also may have content that is a bit more advanced than our juvenile fiction collection, but don’t have the more mature content that may be found in the YA collection. Titles in this new collection include favorites like, Artemis Fowl, The last guardian, Al Capone does my homework, Finally, Hoot, Aru Shah and the end of time, and Slacker. If you need help locating a book, or are looking for book suggestions, visit the Ask Us desk in the Children’s Room.

Summer Reading starts on Saturday, June 7!  Be sure to save the date and register for our Summer Reading kick-off on Saturday, June 14th. We will decorate donuts and launch this year’s theme Color Our World! We are looking forward to a summer full of arts, crafts, performers, and of course – lots of reading about the colorful world around us. Summer reading will run through August 30, and we will release our summer programming schedule over the next few weeks.
