Summertime is a great time to relax with a good book by the pool, on the beach or on a cruise ship. It’s even better if you can win prizes for your reading. You can do just that if you are enrolled in the Summit Library’s summer reading program “A Universe of Stories”. The summer reading program is open to everyone from babies through seniors who read or are read to. As of July 30th we have 117 adults, 108 teens, 517 children and 129 pre-schoolers participating in the program.
While reading for pleasure and information may be the primary reward, we have many partners in the community and beyond the community who are offering other types of rewards including everything from sweet treats to theater/sports tickets to fun family outings. These partners include Benihana, The Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Color Me Mine, The Connection, Dunkin’ Donuts, Edible Arrangements, Field Station Dinosaurs, Friends of the Summit Free Public Library, Legoland Discovery Center, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Natale’s Summit Bakery, Paper Source, The Papery, Picaboo.com, Somerset Patriots, State Theatre of New Jersey, Summit Department of Community Programs, Sweet Nothings ,Tito’s Burritos & Wings, Uber Eats, Zappia’s Delicatessen and Caterers and ZRolls Ice Cream. In addition to funding prizes, the Friends of the Summit Library also funded all the performers presenting programs on this summer’s youth services departments’ calendar.
There is still time to sign up for the summer reading program and the chance to win prizes from our partners. Please be sure to support the businesses that generously donated to our Summer Reading Program!
