From the Director -- September 2018

The Summit Free Public Library Foundation is sponsoring a special event on Friday, September 28th at the Oakes Center, 120 Morris Avenue, Summit. The fundraiser will feature a private wine & cheese reception at 6:30 pm followed by a performance of the Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre's production of Dead and Buried, a play by James McLindon. The dark comedy is set in a small New England town at Halloween. After the performance there will be a second reception where attendees will meet the actors, director and creative team. Tickets for this fun evening are available for just $60.00 at the circulation desk in the library or through the library's website.

The Summit Free Public Library Foundation is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Foundation was instrumental in the recent renovation of the children's room at the library. Their contribution provided all the new shelving in the space. The Foundation has also purchased many new chairs for the adult department and continues to seek ways to enhance, not replace, municipal funding with a focus on endowment, technology and facility enhancement.

Save the date for Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th for the Friends of the Library GIANT Donated Jewelry Sale. Stock up on jewelry for all your special events this holiday season. All purchases support the Friends of the Summit Library. The Friends accept donations of jewelry throughout the year.

The Library is fortunate to have these two wonderful groups working to enhance library services to our community.
