From the Director -- October 2017

Last month the Friends of the Summit Free Public Library and the Summit Library Foundation were honored as the Friends/Foundation boards of the year by the Libraries of Union County Consortium (LUCC) at a reception held at the Linden Public Library. Both groups were praised for their efforts in raising funds and donating to the library. Although both relatively young groups, they have been instrumental in purchasing all the new shelving in the children's department, new chairs and periodical shelving in the adult department and in sponsoring many children's and adult programs including hands-on computer training. In addition, the Friends of the Library are the sole sponsor of the successful museum pass program. The plaque presented by LUCC has been hung near the main entrance.

You can help these groups by joining the Friends of the Library at https://summitfriendsofthelibrary.wildapricot.org/join-us or by attending their upcoming jewelry sale on Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and/or Sunday, October 29th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. You can help the Foundation by naming it as your favorite charity on Amazon Smile here or by donating directly here.

We appreciate all that both groups do to make the Summit Library a better place. Thank you!
