May 2021 From the Director’s Chair

Like the Library, many museums are slowly opening their doors. Thanks to the Friends of the Summit Library, you can reserve a museum pass from a wonderful selection of museums in New York and New Jersey through the library website. Due to coronavirus many of the museums are requiring timed-entry appointments and have other restrictions in place. It is important that you reserve and pick-up the Library’s pass and also make a reservation on the museum’s website before venturing out. Some memberships have expired during the long shutdowns and some museums have discontinued the Library museum pass programs. We are working hard to reinstate some passes and seek out other opportunities to replace those that have been discontinued. Keep on checking our museum pass list for updates as museums open and we offer new museums and old favorites.

Don’t forget that we also offer free one week trials at the Summit Area YMCA and The Connection through our museum pass program. With doors reopened at the Y and The Connection, it’s a great time for you to try out their services. Reserve the free one week passes in the same way you would book a museum pass and get in shape for summer.

Help the Friends of the Library in their efforts to support the museum pass program and many other Library programs by checking out their ongoing jewelry sale in the display cases in the Library. There’s a great selection of items just in time for Mothers’ Day.

The Library is open so come on in!
