You’ve probably heard of Chinese New Year, but did you know that the more accurate terminology is Lunar New Year? The holiday is observed by many non-Chinese Asian countries like Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Lunar New Year kicks off on the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar and is based on the cycles of the moon.
This year, Lunar New Year falls on February 1, and it’s the Year of the Water Tiger. The 2022 Lunar year end on January 31st, 2023.
The Tiger is known as the king of all beasts. The zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness.
