Bilingual Storytime (Age 2 and up): Friday, September 16 @ 5:15-6:00 PM: Join Ms. Ann-Marie for stories, songs, and rhymes in English and Spanish. Stay to create a make afterwards! When storytime is done, you can join the “Fiesta Latina on the Green” across the street, sponsored by the Summit Department of Community Programs.
Lotería (Elementary, Teen, Families): Thursday, September 21 @ 7:00-8:00 PM: Try your luck while playing this unique traditional game of chance.
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: Saturday, October 1 @ 2:00-4:00 PM
- Book Discussion (Teens, Adults) @ 2:00-3:00 PM: Book Discussion of “With the Fire on High” in English & Spanish. Liss Room
- Potluck (All ages) 3:00-4:00 PM: Potluck of foods from many cultures. Quiet Study Area
- Baila Baila (Ages 2-K) @ 3:00-4:00 PM: The Baila Baila program is a dynamic and engaging way to introduce children to learning Spanish through music, arts and games.
- Lotería (Grades K-5) @ 3-4 PM: Try your luck while playing this unique traditional game of chance, and take home some free prizes.
Classical Guitar Concert by Carlos Pavan (All Ages) Sunday, October 9 @ 2:00-3:00 PM: Brooklyn-based composer Carlos Pavan skillfully blends Argentine tango & folklore rhythms with classical and jazz concepts.
Additionally, as part of this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations, Governor Murphy is hosting a Hispanic State Resource Fair in partnership with the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 9:30am. This event will build on this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month theme of “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation” by sharing state resources with New Jersey’s Latino community.
