From the Director – July 2020

This entry has been published on July 18, 2020 and may be out of date.

We can finally share the news we’ve been hoping to share for 3 ½ months! Patrons will be welcomed back into the library beginning Monday, July 6th for browsing and selection of library materials and pick-up only. While you won’t be able to linger to read the newspaper, use a PC or book a quiet study room, you will be able to come in and browse the shelves and pick out some summer reading or a DVD or your child’s favorite picture book. Capacity will be limited to 50 people in the building and masks will be required. Patrons who wish to continue to avoid prolonged periods in public spaces will still be able to request library materials online through the library catalog and telephone reference (908-273-0350, option 3) for quick contactless pick-up.

Library services will gradually increase according to Governor Murphy’s Road Back plan and Executive Orders and the Reopening Plan approved by the Library’s Board of Trustees. Gradually patrons will be able to linger longer and at increasing capacities to use library materials and services. All library programming will remain virtual throughout the summer and we await further guidelines regarding onsite programs before planning our fall schedule. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Summer library hours beginning July 6th will be Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The library is closed on Sunday until September 13th.
