From the Director — January 2023

This entry has been published on January 3, 2023 and may be out of date.

Dear Summit Free Public Library patrons and community members,

As the year comes to an end, we begin to find “Top Ten” lists everywhere we look – and for good reason. These lists are simply irresistible! They appeal to our sense of curiosity and community. They are easy to share, insightful, and can spark interesting conversation. And so, as we prepare for the New Year, let’s take a final look back at the books, movies, and items that our community spent the most time with! Here are the top ten most circulated adult items at the Summit Library in 2022:

1)     The Top – The Top is Summit High School’s yearbook. In 2022, Summit High School yearbooks from 1921 through 2017 were digitized. Click here to access the digitized yearbooks.

2)     The Maid: A Novel by Nita Prose

3)     The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

4)     Mobile Hotspot – Mobile Hotspots are available through our Library of Things collection. Click here to browse the full Library of Things collection.

5)     The Paper Palace by Miranda Heller Cowley

6)     The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid

7)     The Last Thing He Told Me: A Novel by Laura

8)     Der Spiegel – German magazine

9)     House of Gucci (DVD)

10)  Apples Never Fall: A Novel by Liane Moriarity

Finally, thank you – to all of our newsletter readers and to all of our patrons – for your support of the Library this year. Thank you for bringing your young learners to storytime, for enjoying programs and special events, for bringing us your research questions, and for checking out all of the books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, and more that we offer. As always, if there is anything that we at the Library can do to better meet your needs, please feel free to contact me at abs@summitlibrary.org or (908) 277-9455.

Happy New Year!
