Free Career Assistance from the Plainfield Public Library

The Plainfield Public Library is now offering virtual job search assistance and digital literacy certification programs free to all NJ residents. These services are primarily funded through a New Jersey Labor and Workforce Development Grant, therefore specific town residency is not required for patrons; they are free to all NJ residents.

The program is called Libraries Focused on the Future. It provides access to:

Free live person-to-person chat for help with:

  • Resume and cover letter review
  • Job Search
  • Interview skills
  • Completing application forms

Free Digital Literacy Training and Certification

  • Drop-in tech help
  • One-off workshops on topics such as the Microsoft Office and Google Suites
  • Intensive multi week courses leading to industry recognized credentials such as IC3 and Microsoft Office specialist. (All testing fees are covered by NJLWD)
