While you wait for the autumn teen volunteer season to begin, you can earn five hours of community service by becoming a Banned Book Bandit!
Banned Books Bandits will help the library celebrate 2021 Banned Books Week by reading an excerpt of a banned book aloud in front of an audience in the Lower Level Meeting room on Tuesday, September 28 at 7 PM. If we are unable to host the program in the library due to COVID, we will have instructions on how you can record yourself reading the excerpt aloud.
What you do:

Choose a banned book on the Google form provided.

Research who banned it, and why it was banned.

Choose a passage from the book, and practice reading it aloud.

Meet with Ms. Ann-Marie during the week of September 20, to practice reading aloud the work that you chose.

Present your results and read the excerpt from your book in person on September 28, 2021, at 7 PM.

As mentioned: If the numbers for the delta variant increase before then, we will have instructions on how you can record yourself reading the excerpt aloud.

If you complete this task:

You will earn five hrs of community service.

You will be invited to join our new “Book Bunch” teen volunteer club which will begin in the winter.
