I am pleased to share that the Library’s iconic Rotunda has been enhanced with beautiful new furniture and additional seating, creating an even more welcoming, comfortable, and inspiring space for our community. Long cherished as a place to read the newspaper, relax, study, or connect with friends, the Rotunda now offers 24 new seats and 5 new tables for patrons to enjoy.
This improvement was made possible through the generosity of our community and the dedicated efforts of the Summit Free Public Library Foundation. Last February, the Foundation hosted an afternoon of jazz featuring the acclaimed Carrie Jackson at the Summit Elks Lodge to raise funds for new furnishings in the Rotunda. We are deeply grateful for the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing the Library experience for all who visit.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Friends of the Library for their generous contribution to this project. Together with everyone who attended the event and made a donation, you helped transform this vision into reality. Your support enables the Library to continue providing welcoming spaces, valuable resources, and enriching experiences for the Summit community.
We invite you to visit the Rotunda and enjoy this renewed space. The new furnishings stand as a testament to what can be accomplished through community support and a shared investment in the Library’s future. We look forward to seeing the community enjoy this beautiful space for years to come.
