Summit Library’s Volunteer Fair is now in its 5th year! Come join us on Sunday, October 8 from 1:30-4:30 and explore many options for volunteering. Whatever your interests may be, there will likely be an organization that will be thrilled to have you.
We began hosting this event back in 2018 as a way to help nonprofit organizations acquire additional volunteers and also to assist people looking for volunteer opportunities to find their “niche.” It was so well-received and appreciated that we decided to make it an annual event. We didn’t even let Covid stop us! Our 2020 fair was virtual. Thankfully, we were able to reinstate the in-person fair in 2021.
Volunteering is a mutually beneficial pursuit. Not only does it help others, but according to the Mayo Clinic, it offers multiple health benefits to the volunteer. It improves physical and mental health, provides a sense of purpose, teaches valuable skills, and nurtures relationships. Make a difference in the lives of others and in your own! Hope to see you there.
