Lights! Camera! Action! The library has been making movies available to the public since 1985, when we began to loan videocassettes (remember those?) from a pilot collection of 85 titles. That collection grew and grew until it was replaced by newer technology. The Library now owns more than 9,700 titles on DVD and 1000 on Blu-Ray. There are feature films, TV series, documentaries, concerts, and educational films for all ages and interests.
We offer other ways to enjoy movies. The Library subscribes to two streaming services which allow Summit card holders to access films of all kinds for free: Kanopy and Hoopla. (Hoopla also offers music, e-books, and e-audiobooks.)
And then there’s Monday at the Movies. Every Monday, year-round, we show a film at 12:30 PM and again at 6:30 PM in the library’s meeting room. Most are recent releases. Check our website for upcoming titles.
