Adult Services Highlight — January 2026

More than a century after their invention, movies continue to be a popular form of entertainment and education, and the Library makes it easy to enjoy them. Every Monday, at 12:30 PM and 6:30 PM, we show a movie. Admission is free and no registration is required.

Prefer to enjoy your movies at home? There are over 8000 DVDs and Blu-Rays in our collection, including new releases, classics, family films, documentaries, and popular TV series. Don’t own a player? Our Library of Things includes a DVD/Blu-Ray Player that can be borrowed (Summit cardholders only) for seven days.

An even larger collection be found on the streaming service Kanopy, which offers over 30,000 films of all kinds (Summit Library card required). The Kanopy app is available on most smart TVs. Search for a specific title, or browse by genre: Drama, Comedy, World Cinema, Mystery, Animated, and more. The Instructional category includes many of the Great Courses, as well as how-to films on photography, crafts, business, self-help, and fitness. In addition to the Family-Friendly genre, there’s a separate catalogue of Kanopy Kids, for young children. While there is a monthly borrowing limit, all titles are always available, so there are no waiting lists.

Whatever your viewing tastes, the Library has something for everyone.
