Consider becoming a a Banned Book Reader!
Banned Book Readers will help the library celebrate 2026 Banned Books Week, by reading an excerpt of a banned book aloud in front of an audience in the Liss Meeting room on Tuesday October 6 at 7:00 PM.
What you do:

Select any banned or challenged books that you have read or are interested in reading on the lists in the Google Form provided.

Ms. Ann-Marie or Ms. Lilli will contact you, and let you know the book that you will read and prepare from your selected choices.

Research who banned the book, and why it was banned.

Choose a passage from the book, and practice reading it aloud.

Meet with Ms. Ann-Marie or Ms. Lilli during the week of either September 21-26, or September 27-October 2, to practice reading aloud the passage that you have chosen.

Present your results and read the excerpt from your book in person on Tuesday October 6 at 7:00 PM.
If you complete this task, you will earn five hours of community service.
